What is EFT Tapping?

EFT tapping is a revolutionary technique proven to bring astonishing results for personal well being & business success. EFT tapping combines Western Science of Modern Psychology and Eastern concept of moving energy through meridian path ways to release barriers that come in the way of your creativity and full capacity.

It’s such a simple, yet incredibly powerful technique.

Acupuncture is another technique that moves energy through meridian points, which you might be more familiar with. EFT Tapping is more like acupressure.

EFT Tapping applies acupressure without the needles.

You use your finger tips to apply pressure on meridian points while repeating a Tapping sequence related to your issue in hand. It’s that simple!

Your Emotions and EFT Tapping

EFT is also known as Emotional Freedom Technique. That’s simply what it does – frees you from dense emotions such as anxiety, stress, overwhelm, anger, fear and so on.

When you experience these intense emotions, your brain goes on an alert, entering you in a fight-or-flight response mode. Fight-or-flight is body’s natural defense mechanism that’s activated to either fight or flee from danger.

What happens when your body is preparing for a fight-or-flight response?

  • Cortisol & Adrenalin starts pumping
  • Heart rate rises
  • Blood vessels dilate
  • Sugar levels rise
  • Breathing increases
  • Muscles become tense
  • Reduction in sex hormone

This is what happens to your body when you are stressed. In the old ancient days stressor were produced by more of a physical threat for survival, such as outrunning or outfighting attackers like a tiger.

In the modern days however, most of the stressors are internal.

Today’s fast pace life style where there is so much pressure of deadlines, countless emails, social media posts, dealing with high traffic, never ending to-do-list…etc. etc.

Basically, high performance expectations in every facet of your life keep you in fight-or-flight mode.

In the corporate world the term “CYA” is pretty popular.

What is that really?

One word explains it well. SURVIVAL.

Stress experts are now adding the word freeze to fight-or-flight. Freeze response happens in traumatic situations. It’s like a deer in the headlights. For human beings, the freeze response can occur due to a traumatic experience when there is no chance for survival or escape.

These Fight-Flight-Freeze responses are meant to be short lived, only in extreme dangerous situations.

However, in today’s world we are constantly living a stressed out life style. These responses are becoming more chronic, giving birth to chronic problems.

In my opinion, behaviors like procrastination, feeling stuck, staying in a job that is mundane and boring, not taking action to make a change, are all results of a freeze response.

When there is no hope or escape, the inner dialogue goes like this, “What’s the point? Why bother? It’s not going to make a difference anyway?”

Does that sound familiar?

These reactions may be due to negative past traumatic memories, events, situations or experiences.

EFT Tapping is proven to clear traumas, limiting patterns, old beliefs, fears, phobias and addictions.

Although, it’s a simple technique that can be used on your own but there is so much depth within EFT Tapping. You may not be aware of some unconscious beliefs that are in charge about 95% of times. It is very important to work with a practitioner who can help you recognize and guide you through both conscious and subconscious beliefs.

There are various techniques within EFT Tapping that can be applied depending on each scenario. For example, The Movie Technique is an indirect technique used when the subject is private, when it is too difficult to speak about a particular event from the past. Tearless Trauma is another indirect technique used without focusing too much into the problem.

Telling the Story is one of the direct techniques used to clear all the aspects related to a specific event so there is no intensity left behind.

It is important to work with an EFT practitioner, who is well trained to guide you through using applicable technique for optimal results.

How does EFT Tapping work?

Body’s stress response is controlled by an almond-shaped part of the brain, which is known as the amygdala.  This is part of the limbic system, which is the source of emotions and long-term memory. The stress response to any external or internal threat begins in the amygdale. It signals the brain to prepare for the Freeze-Fight-Flight response.

Scientific research has shown that by stimulating the meridian points using acupuncture, acupressure and tapping can reduce the stress levels. Tapping on meridian endpoints helps to deactivate the amygdala’s stress response and sends a calming response instead.

The brain recognizes it’s not a threat, therefore releasing the intensity of your emotions. This changes neural pathways in your brain.

During tapping you keep a mental focus on a particular problem and feel the emotions related to that problem in your body. Then repeating a specific sequence of words and tapping on 12 meridian points reduces the intensity of mental, psychological and emotional charges related to that problem.

By activating these meridian points, moving the stuck energy through them restores and balances your energy. This eliminates the distress that gives rise to problems. It clears the blocks that were holding you hostage.

Imagine having to make right choices and decisions if you were outrunning a tiger in a fight-or-flight response?

Your ability would be limited. Right?

With EFT Tapping you release all the stress. You respond to life situations from a relaxed mode. You also don’t REACT from past experiences and programming, instead you RESPOND from a neutral place.

It becomes easier to maintain focus, make right choices IN life, smart decisions in business and boost creativity when you are not in a Freeze-Fight-Flight mode.

You literally tap into your own reservoir of healing, abundance, creativity and potential using EFT tapping as a tool for personal and business success.
